The kite school is located a stone’s throw away from the kitesurf beach of Langebaan, at the West Coast of South Africa. Shark Bay (only sand sharks) with its shallow waters is nearby. Wind/Weather
The summer months bring great cross-shore Southerly winds (sometimes SW or SSE) to Langebaan. Luckily we also benefit from the Venturi effect on our wind in summer resulting in kiteable wind most days.
Summer days can vary in air temp from 23'C - 35'C but on average it's about 25'C - 27'C.
Water temperature in summer 15'C - 20'C
The off-season (winter) can at times have wind (not reliable) but these would usually be from the North or NW with a bit of swell running.
Air temperature in winter is a lot cooler and averages at about 17'C with some warmer days in between, water temperature can vary between 9 - 16'C in winter.
