The tools we have and use are changing. There are many ways to tell if it's going to be windy by examining the surroundings. Sometimes though, you might be new and not exactly know what details to look for the properly forecast the day - especially if the spot is a few hours away.
Luckily for us, some passionate techies are also kiteboarders who have been working on developing apps that can properly forecast and tell the wind live. Three of the most popular apps we have come across are Windy, Kitespotter and Windfinder. All three of these apps have features that quite accurately layout the forecast for the day.
As the sport grows and new spots emerge - we see more kiters and centers setting up wind stations at their local spots. Setting up wind meters not only helps people today, though helps the entire community tomorrow by tracking and creating data to formulate better forecasts in the future.
When you plan to go kiteboarding do you use online, offline or both methods before going? Let us know your method in the comments below and if you do not want to use an app, nor can tell the conditions by your surroundings you can always call your local IKO Center for information regarding the day's forecast!
