When was the last time you ate spaghetti and we are not talking about your favorite carbonara! We are talking about the “spaghetti” of lines all tangled up after a kiteboarding mishap.
What do you do when you have a bad self-rescue or accident and end up on shore with your lines in a crazy mess? Most people frustrated and not thinking clearly undo the lines from their kite and begin trying to fix there lines. Little do they know that this just makes it worse.
The proper way to quickly eat a spaghetti is actually by fixing your lines without disconnecting them. When your lines get all tangled they are all just loops, once you disconnect them they become knots!
So the trick is to lay your kite down and slowly walk your lines out downwind as much as possible without putting tension on the lines. Once your lines are walked out, go to the mess and start undoing the loops slowly. Untangle the easiest knots as you would do with matted hair... With your fingers, attempt to gently pull apart the tangled sections of your lines. Small knots or loose mats can sometimes be pulled into smaller, separate tangles. When you feel tension, stop and try a different tangled area. This process will be much faster than if you undid the lines and began trying to fix the tangle.
