Hello IKO Assistants, Instructors and Centers,

These last weeks at the IKO have been intense as we are working on major developments both on the website and the IKO app, as well as tweaking designs and fine-tuning existing features for the IKO Community.

This communication is about the latest changes. Read the email in its entirety to learn about the new mandatory portrait photo for instructors, use of the IKO logo, changes in the Instructor membership plans and the complete redesign of your professional diploma.

Instructors, don’t be shy, show your face!

For quality purposes, all IKO Instructors now need to hold a valid portrait photo as their IKO account profile picture. This is for your students to recognize and validate you as their Instructor once they are certified and activate their account. It is important to update your photo as Instructors with no profile picture will not be displayed in the community page, despite their good feedbacks.

Only IKO Centers can use the IKO logo and brand name

For an “IKO certified kiteboarding lesson” to meet the IKO Standards, it requires both an IKO Instructor with a valid membership and an affiliated IKO Center.  For that reason, the commercial use of the IKO brand name, logo or any material related, for courses and business promotion, is exclusively reserved to IKO Centers.

Our most popular plan now included for every new IKO Instructor

Since the start of 2019, we have made it that all newly qualified IKO Instructors receive the Plus plan for a year (instead of the Basic plan) as soon as they pass the ITC. Moreover, 5 credits have been added to the Plus plan and Instructors that choose the Premium plan now receive 50 Credits as well as other benefits (so that you pay once for the year!)

A fresh new look to your IKO Diploma

In our efforts to streamline the branding of the IKO across all our platforms and channels, we just gave your diploma a new elegant design. Check out the official layout of the diploma by downloading your diploma from your account (this is of course as long as you hold a valid membership!). Remember that your IKO diploma has an expiry date. Make sure to download and print the latest one and display it on the wall at your IKO Center!
