A valid question comes up amongst kiters of all levels… Should I carry around a kite and board repair kit? It is a valid question because when will you really ever use it?
We have heard the question hundreds of times across the world and heard about a hundred different answers. We have concluded some guidelines to helping answer this question as the answer is unique per case.
Owning a kite and board repair kit can range anywhere between 25-100 USD. The investment is not huge though for some, can be useless. Owning a repair kit is essential to those that are independent adventure kiters. If you are a kiter who hangs around kite clubs or centers, you actually do not need a repair kit; the club or school would usually have and be able to help repair.
Kiters that go to remote spots and travel around the world should carry some extra accessories including a repair kit. Imagine going on a car camping trip without a spare tire, car jack or wrench.
It is always better to be prepared than not - it is when you need it that you realize you don’t have it. Best to avoid this situation by making sure you have a repair kit to not miss out on the fun!
