IKO Meets With Its Members in Dominican Republic
28 Nov 2013
The IKO is pleased to announce that its staff has had the great pleasure of hosting a meeting at the beginning of November with its IKO Dominican Republic members. The meeting was held at the IKO Headquarters in Cabarete, Dominican Republic.
This opportunity gave the IKO a chance to introduce its new products and services as well as to brainstorm solutions on how to overcome the local challenges that have arisen in the area.
Below is a summary of the general ideas and concepts addressed during the meeting:
-
Discussed the importance of Quality and Security, which is our common goal.
-
Introduced the new insurance now available for Instructors and Schools in the DR.
-
Introduced the new IKO website.
-
Discussed and surfaced the local challenges faced at Cabarete Beach.
-
Introduced the new IKO Clothing Collection.
-
Discussed the promotion of Cabarete as a kiting destination through pictures and event sharing.
This meeting was very productive. The IKO was extremely glad to see the Members and Schools that showed real motivation in organizing and establishing the Kiting Zone at the beach in Cabarete. The Kiting Zone now offers the best for riders to obtain services and a guaranty of security and safety.
Many different solutions were proposed to handle the local challenges encountered by the locals at the Dominican Cabarete Beach. These solutions are intended to improve service and security. A presentation is planned to be presented, which details the challenges along with proposed solutions for the Dominican authority to take into serious consideration. This will help to improve practice and learning of kiteboarding at Cabarete Beach.
We here, at the IKO, want all of our members to know that we are striving for the betterment of our IKO Members and are promoting the kiteboarding sport in the safety way possible here in the Dominican as well as all in the local areas where IKO is represented.
Because of all the feedback we have received from our local members participating in our meetings, we now can successfully move forward and offer solutions that will help improve any challenges specific to any local area and advance kiteboarding in that area.
We appreciate seeing everyone involved. Continue the hard work. The IKO supports you. We are in this together.
