The second leg of the KBC Tour in Dublin (Ireland) was over-the-top successful. Everyone had fun at the event including both kiteboarders and non-kiteboarders alike.
During the weekend 24th and 25th of May ‘The Battle for the Bay’ organised by ‘Pure Magic’ hosted the second leg of the Kite Boarder Cross tour. Over forty riders registered early the Saturday morning with the goal to become King of the Bay 2014!!! The Saturday brought ideal sideshore winds of 15-20 knots and competition heats were ran until early evening. Conditions did not allow heats to run Sunday. Instead lots of sunshine made it ideal for a large audience to gather on Dollymount Beach to watch the Stand up Paddle competiton and the Mystic big air Wakeboard competition with demos from triple world champion Nick Davis.
Once again the amateur riders were able to ride with the ¨crème de la crème¨ of the sport with James Boulding (1st), Lewis Crathern (2nd) and Richard Flindall (3rd) for the men and with eight female riders, Hannah Whiteley was able to win against Holly Kennedy.
The IKO extends earnest congratulations to the first place winners as well as first time Kite Boader Cross competitors.
