Kiteboarder Cross Tour 2014 Delivers First Three Stages With More Planned

Cabarete, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic September 2014. The IKO (International Kiteboard Organization), world’s largest kiteboard network, and the organizers of the KBC Cup, announce the first three stages of the Kiteboarder Cross Tour (KBC) of 2014 have concluded with such epic success that more stages will be soon organized in at least two more locations.
The KBC Tour is a race among kiterboarders jumping and maneuvering over obstacles. The best part of the race is that the events have something fun for everyone. Each stage consists of 2 to 3 days of kiteboard competition, beach activities, live music and more.
The KBC Tour gives opportunities to kiteboarders to get their skills noticed and possibly discovered. The competition is held yearly, It;s open to anyone who can ride safely amount other riders and perform jumps in both directions.
The first three stages of competition were held across Europe. The first stage was in the South of France; the second in Dublin, Ireland; and the third was at Fraserburgh Beach, Scotland. The champs of the entire competition will be determined by aggregating the scores from all of the stages. For now, here are the standings: Pete Jones is in first place; JP Butterworth is in 2nd; Ross know in 3rd; Damien Carre is in 4th; and Maggie Davies leads the women’s race.
The next two stages of the competition will be held in Europe and the Caribbean. The fourth stage will be held on October 17-19, 2014 in Carnac, France. After that, the fifth stage will take place on January 7-11, 2015 in Sainte-Anne, Guadeloupe.
Participants compete by racing against each other in a downwind course with inflatable obstacles. Winners will receive prize money of up to 5000€. The Tour has two categories of competition, one for professionals and one for amateurs. To enter, riders must be able to stay upwind, perform a turn and a simple jump in both directions while abiding by the safety rules.
The Tour is a two-day event that both kiteboarders and spectators will enjoy. The two days are filled with live music and beach activities in addition to the exhilarating kiteboard competition.
