IKO means Safety and Confidence
12 Dec 2012
When you see one of these logos, you are assured your training will be the highest level of quality and safety.
We are pleased to let you know the IKO Affiliated Center Logos have been updated with the redesign intent to help you recognize the IKO Brand immediately. If this logo is displayed on a kite center’s website or print materials, then you know that you are choosing a reputable IKO Affiliated Kite Center.
***CAUTION*** Please be aware that some centers using IKO Logos are doing so illegally so they can give their center credibility without actually going through the IKO Affiliation process.

Importance of the IKO Affiliation Process
The IKO Affiliation process is what assures the safest and highest quality of consistent training around the world. No matter where an IKO Affiliated Center is located on the map, it commits to follow IKO’s Standards. The IKO Standards have become the benchmark for safety and quality in kiteboard training worldwide. Thanks to these high Standards the evolution of the sport has now become a “safe” mainstream activity that everyone even the whole family can enjoy.
Quality of IKO Instructors
Additionally, IKO Affiliated Centers commit to only hiring IKO Certified Instructors who are trained by the world’s most elite and experienced network of Kiteboard Instructors available. Our Instructors go through a rigorous process as well as training that assure a high level of knowledge in how to teach quality kiteboarding in the safest way possible.
IKO World’s Largest Network Makes It Possible
No other kiteboard organization has this level of skilled and diversified professionals in their kiteboard network as the IKO. We boast to have the “World’s Largest Kiteboard Network.” This network represents years of kiteboard experience both in teaching the sport and practicing recreationally. This cumulative experience of the best-of-the-best in kiteboarding gives the IKO exclusive knowledge that it transfers willingly to its students to ensure fun and safety go together. When you go IKO, you learn to kiteboard safely and confidently.
Moreover, if you go through our professional training, you learn the most effective methods on how to teach others to apply the high Standards while learning to kiteboard. Go IKO! It is Win-Win for everyone including riders and instructors even innocent by-standers that need you to be safe while kiteboarding!
How to Identify an IKO Affiliated Center
As demonstrated in the image above, we have provided IKO Affiliated Centers 5 different sized logos for them to have options when including the Logo in all of their promotional materials whether for a web site, Internet advertising banners and/or print materials. Also, the logos are color coded as blue is for kiteboarding (water), orange is for snowkiting and red is for powerkiting. Kite Centers will update their materials immediately to prominently display this new look for customers to easily recognize its IKO Affiliation.
IKO Affiliated Centers cobranded together with the IKO are recognized worldwide as having trusted and verified credentials for their training facility, instructors and the highest credibility in international kiteboard training.
How to Verify a Kite Center is “Officially” IKO Affiliated
The IKO recommends that when you find a Kite Center Training Facility verify its IKO Status for your own safety before enrolling in its training courses. Even if a center prominently displays the IKO Affiliated Logo, it does not mean they are Affiliated. As stated above, some use the logo illegally. Further, it is extremely important to note that some centers may have been Affiliated at one time but could have been suspended for various reasons mostly related to violating safety Standards.
For your own safety, you can easily verify a Center’s status by looking it up on the IKO website and looking for the green “Quality Check Approved” image next to the Center’s name at http://ikointl.com/kiteboarding_centers/centers.php.
