If you are looking to progress faster and learn tricks, this course is for you! The new Kiteboard Master Clinic (KMC) was designed with YOU in mind. IKO Affiliated Centers are working with Certified Kiteboard Coaches to offer this advanced training program that helps riders reach the next level. You get video coaching, no wind insurance and more.
About the Kiteboard Master Clinic
“The Kiteboard Master Clinic is now ‘the’ training to learn the most comprehensive practical and theoretical knowledge a kiteboarder needs,” said Eric Beaudonnat, co-founder and training director of the IKO. “Over 2,000 working hours went in to creating this Clinic including time spent by a physiotherapist, a sport coach and an osteopath who created specific warm up and stretching exercises.
How to grow into a Kiteboard Master?
The Kiteboard Master Clinic (KMC) is held for five (5) days in groups with a maximum of 6 riders. The Clinic encompasses a mix of practice, workshops, personalized coaching and theoretical courses such as:
- Advanced Kiteboard Riding and Technique
- Downwinder Riding and Organization
- Ocean Safety and Communication
- Equipment Tuning
- Equipment Care, Repair and Maintenance
- Warm-up, Stretching Exercises and Routines
KMCs offer areas of specialty
Select and enroll in the KMC that offers the specific training content of the area of specialty you want to learn. The Clinic also incorporates three (3) different riding aspects:
KMCs provide the highest level of quality instruction
You will receive nothing but the best instruction with the Kiteboard Master Clinic. All Clinic Instructors are Kiteboard Coaches (KC) who are experts. Only IKO Coaches are allowed to teach the KMC. KCs receive specific training. They are at least a Level 2 Instructor with excellent riding levels, and have logged a minimum of 800 teaching hours. Group synergy for better learning
You will learn amongst fellow kiteboarders in an extremely positive and progressive environment. It is the firm belief of IKO that synergy is an important part of kiteboard mastery. KMCs have up to six registered enrollees. Methodology and general knowledge courses are conducted in groups in order to foster shared experiences and knowledge.
Group thing yet personalized
You will receive personalized coaching during advanced riding practice. Coaches will provide you one-on-one, tailored feedback and guidance as well as customize your unique needs, strengths and desires. Additionally, when needed your Coach reviews your filmed practices together with you. He or she provides you a clear understanding of what steps you need to take to achieve your desired results. What better way to improve than to see yourself in action?
To attempt this course you must:
- Be at least 16 years of age.
- Be in good health.
- Be able to ride at IKO kiteboarder Level 3K or its equivalent (IKO Certification is not mandatory).
- Be able to consistently ride in all directions.
- Be willing and able to respect the Right of Way (ROW) Rules.
- Have an IKO account (It is free).
What is the NO wind insurance?
Don’t worry about unpredictable wind conditions. The IKO Kiteboard Master Clinic has been designed to adapt accordingly to wind time ranges, allowing schedule adjustments so that you experience the maximum amount of ride time. In times without wind, you will work in groups, focusing on general knowledge or kiteboarding methodology, or you will be participating in one of the many planned activities and/or simulations. Some of these exciting excursions may include stand-up paddle boarding, wake boarding, kayaking, mountain biking or more! For every ½ windless day, the KMC Organizer guarantees you two full activity hours without extra cost! You definitely get your money’s worth with the IKO Kiteboard Master Clinic.
